A clean-up action was held in Hutovo Blato Nature Park on Sunday, May 17, 2026, ahead of the International Day for Biological Diversity, which is observed annually on May 22. The action was organised by the Office of the Prime Minister of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in cooperation with Diving Club Mostar, within the framework of the COASTRUST project.
During the activity, a section of the Krupa River was cleaned, and various types of waste posing a threat to the plant and animal life of this protected area were collected.
Through this initiative, the importance of protecting wetland ecosystems, as well as the need for a more responsible attitude towards natural resources and biodiversity conservation, was once again highlighted. Participants emphasised that activities such as this play an important role in raising public awareness about environmental protection and contribute to preserving natural heritage for future generations.
